
Horror as Hope
Horror can teach us about heartbreak… love for the other… can juxtapose the sacred and the profane.. can be prophetic and warn.. can shine a light on our monstrous human behaviors… can also just be an escape. Right now, with the way so much is going in the everyday, I think any of those reasons are reason enough to catch a horror flick now and again.

They just keep coming
We are all complicated, and we can have complicated and conflicting feelings about what is going on in the world. Yet, like Niemöller implores in his confession, we do all have some responsibility, some agency. Let's not need to confess we stood by and did nothing this time around.

It takes a lot of energy to flower
Spring is, naturally, our time to be reminded that it takes a lot of energy to grow and to flower.

What I choose to envision is the Great Good; we can deal with the details when we get there.

When it is hard to feel hopeful
Instead of imagining all the ways things could get worse, I want to start imagining the world I want to live in. I mean really envisioning it.

Sometimes what we desire and what we feel capable of are out of alignment.

On Sharing and Sincerity
Being able to be vulnerable, exposing both our similarities and our differences is what brings us into community.
